I officially have a BFA in Film & Video - along with the annual Award for Excellence in Liberal Arts, Academic Honors, and a monetary award from the Film department! The May 24th graduation ceremony was held outside, and would continue regardless of rain. Luckily, it was just a little sprinkly during the ceremony. Due to the weather, we weren't going to walk and would therefore have a really short ceremony where the president says "congrats" to the lot of us, and done. But no!
Everyone started chanting "let us walk!" - so, we ended up walking. And along the way, my parents took this incredibly flattering photo!
And as I was walking off the podium, they snapped the professional shot! I always think about how much pressure that must be for the photographer hired for the event, haha. This one will definitely remain on my kitchen table for a while, I call tell you that!
A week ago I found a photo of my parents with a two-year-old me - unrecognizable. If I didn't know it was me, I wouldn't believe it. I wanted to recreate this 1992 photo with my parents, reunited solely for my graduation day. And so we posed, and I posed the two images side-by-side.
