I'm a semifinalist in the 2013 Adobe Design Achievement Awards in Editing/Post-Production!
I suddenly decided out to start organizing my email accounts tonight, and found this congratulatory email tucked away in some random folder, (because sometimes Gmail makes no sense) -
"Thank you for participating in the 2013 Adobe Design Achievement Awards and congratulations on the selection of your entry (Entry #2947) (Ice Cream For Breakfast) for the Semifinal round in the Editing and Post Production category." And now, you can find me in the 'semi-finalist' section of the site, and on the ADAA facebook!
I initially decided to enter because I saw posters all over my school promoting the contest, but I don't know anyone else from the school (or at the least, my major) who also submitted. On the site, there's a graph showing how many submissions per art school were made - and MassArt isn't even on the graph. I also noticed a girl with whom I attended high school is a semi-finalist for something-or-other, and I wanted to beat her, haha...competition.
My video 'Ice Cream For Breakfast' was the piece that got nominated me as a semi-finalist. Watch it embedded or directly on Vimeo, and check out the video project page for more!
Now I've gotta get all the required materials together and ship them off to Adobe - wish me luck! Just being nominated as a semi-finalist is an achievement in itself, but it would be great to move on to the next level!
