I was recently asked to direct a short film entitled 'Amor Sangre' original screenplay by and featuring actor Lindsey Elisabeth Cork. Rhode Island-based acting coach and filmmaker Mike Messier is also part of this team - in fact, he recommended me for the part. I'm not only flattered that I was recommended to them, but am excited to work on this romantic comedy.
The film follows an ancient vampire as she kidnaps a housewife with whom she has fallen in love - and the comedy ensues! I feel that lesbian vampires are underrepresented in film right now - what a great opportunity to bring them to light! (Not literally, though - vampires, you know."
Amor Sangre stars Jocelyn Padilla as Lucianna, a 426-year-old vampire who doesn't have a clue. When Lucianna steals Veronica (Lindsey Elisabeth Cork), a wholesome, old fashioned housewife and mother of two from her family in attempt to make her a vampire bride, a whirlwind of chaos begins. The 'couple' meet Serena, a sarcastic, witty and charming prostitute who goes from being their next meal to a lifelong friend. Is it possible that the snarky hooker can help Lucianna win the heart of Veronica?"
Though I was asked solely to direct, I've thus far rewritten the script, and am working as producer on pre-production. Though still looking for a crew member to do sound work, it's all coming together, and are shooting in late March...
