Last night was the Raw Artists 'REVOLUTION' event at club Rumor in Boston! I sold my print work, and was asked to be part of several future shows and productions! It was pretty fun - met some great artists, and made back all of the money I put into the show. I also managed to get a clip light, so there's that. Check out my post with mini-slideshows and photos of my setup, and the event.
I had print-outs of my bio, info. about my film 'My Big Bad Wolf' (2013), and info. about the two short films I screened - 'The Robber' (2011) and 'Ice Cream for Breakfast' (2013)! And yes, we accepted cash and credit card thanks to my Square Reader!
Thought I'd throw in these stylish shots of me posing by the empty bar, haha.
Apparently the event started late - I didn't notice until a few people asked, "When is your first film showing? I thought it was supposed to be at 8:15?" Either way, I was able to sell my work, make new fans (and friends, which is always nice), and show two short films. I also had the shorts looping on my laptop, along with 'Giraffe World' and the trailer for 'My Big Bad Wolf' (2013)!
On the list, the music is too loud, and you're trying to talk over it for 4 hours. So, my voice was a little raspy this morning. I mentioned it to the coordinator in a text last month, but he didn't respond. However - it was great talking to all of the people in the show!
Steve accompanied me, and managed to get a photo of my 'artist interview' before the show! I think I'm making a doofy face - hopefully the camera didn't catch that...
Oh, and I have purple hair now - fading into blue tips, a nice gradient, or 'ombre' as the kids say. It was supposed to be lavender, but I had to correct a massive salon stylist mistake and went dark purple. Not bad, though!
Some friends came to the show and we took photos together!
I was able to sit in my booth and see the models for one of the fashion shows as they walked down the 'runway'. I believe this set is called StyledForTheThrill by Lyndsey!
Well, I think this post shows you how the night went! Now to update product inventory on my Excel spreadsheets, haha...
