I Am Monroe?

Last month I was asked by Jocelyn Padilla if I'd work on the second-half of production for her film 'I Am Monroe?' - to which I said, sure!

I'll be working on the film's upcoming crowd fund campaign video, and will help promote the facebook fan page, and the film's Twitter! I already went through all of the previous footage shot in 2013 by D.P. Ben Heald, and gathered some great stills to use for the film's publicity!

This surreal period piece, written, produced and directed by Jocelyn Padilla with co-director Nathan Suher, focuses on a young Norma Jeane, who dies a mysterious death. When she awakens, she finds herself in a womb-like realm, a limbo between the past and future.

Norma Jeane, portrayed by actress Andrea Kinch, glances at her reflection in a mirror to find her being is no longer in her own, familiar body. She quickly learns that passage from one realm into the next can only be achieved by facing a series of challenges.

One must be subjected to their past misfortunes and sins along with the "happy memories" in order to move on. Alongside 'Woman in the Womb' played by Jocelyn Padilla, is character Laine, a whimsical spirit guide aiding the new soul on her journey in this mirror-like world, a warped realm.

However, things are quickly shaken when horrific images appear in the magic mirror. 'Red Death,' an evil, mysterious succubus portrayed by Lindsey Elisabeth Cork, plays minds games and tries desperately to keep 'Woman In The Womb' from progressing into her next life...

Even the chosen color scheme and lighting seem to work well to convey the emotions and thoughts running throughout each scene!

Jocelyn has also spent the last year revising the second half of the script, the 'womb realm' scenes, so they are just as impactful both visually and emotionally.

You can see a clip on the left, a frame of a clip being used in the campaign video on the right, and the editing timeline below that! All of those little, colorful rectangles in the timeline are bits of audio and video I'm piecing together to make the 'I Am Monroe?' IndieGogo campaign video!

We're working towards the final touches on the crowd funding campaign video and page, and plan to launch in early July - I'll keep you updated!
