That pensive, distant look. Queue the nostalgic voice over, and let the screenshots for my new series fauxmercials roll in...
Actor Andrew Morais on the set of our Gillette spoof 'The Best A Man Can Get,' part of our upcoming project, looking at a sexy someone off-camera. This great mood lighting makes me want to drive through the night past all the neon lights, and I suppose I have our grip/gaffer Dan Perez de la Garza and assistant Andrew Frechette to thank for the blue light beams and smoky feel.
As I organize footage for editing and post-production work, I capture screenshots, and this stuff put me in the mood for a midnight drive. This ungraded (raw) footage looks so perfect, I wonder how I'll 'enhance' it with color work.
I made a few quick videos like this one, here, and stuck it on Instagram. There's something about the lighting, and their movements, that seem almost 3D. Well, to me, anyway.
Here, I'll give you some more perfectly-lit-blue-neon-midnight-bar shots to set the mood...
Casey William Hines certainly held his own and made the perfect guy for the role opposite Andrew. Look at him, literally dripping sexual tension throughout the scene, haha.
This is definitely one of those projects you just don't want to end, so you can continue to bask in its glow. I've synced audio, thanks to Djim Reynolds, and aim to finish this first video in the fauxmercials series before the new year. Keep watching for more behind-the-scenes looks and screenshots from my new #fauxmercials series!
