Last week I had some fun with graphic design mockups! Why? Because I love when things look clean and delightful, and mockups are the perfect way to present work! I was inspired to create these when, earlier in the week, I made new business cards for web design client and fine artist Dee Cohen. The cards show her amazing paintings and I had to share!
Next, I thought about the website I just completed for Boston-based production company Paracelsus Films. Then it hit me - why not make new client website mockups to go with the crisp, new business card displays?
I realized that I'm promoting 'responsive design' websites, meaning the sites conform to the size of the device you're using - and, yet, I'd simply been sharing my website designs using a single iMac mockup, not at all expressing the cross-device capabilities of these sites!
I like to constantly - and consistently - upgrade my work when I learn new skills. Mockups are a perfect way to demonstrate not only your design skills, but the fact you can make mockups, too! (On a side note, I'd been spelling it 'mock-up' for a while, but it seems many designers skip the hyphen.)
What should I mockup next?
