What better way to celebrate July 4th than to toilet paper your screen with Trumps, amiright? We kept it under wraps, but the cast and crew have been itching to share this video. This is another installment in my ongoing #Fauxmercials series of comedic "ads" spoofing real brands, and it really stands out!
After Trump was elected, a friend of mine went around handing people pieces of Trump-themed toilet paper. What can I say, I was inspired - his name rhymes with so many "bathroom words," I let my creative juices flow. Determined to go through with the video, I bought a bunch of presidential paper on Amazon.com, put out a casting call, and finally - wrote the script.
I could not have asked for a better "pseudo-Orbit-Gum-Poo-Pourri" spokeswoman than the incredibly talented Helena J. Morris.
She brought such exciting personality and strong performance to the set, we created entirely new scenarios so she could showcase her stuff. Her background in theater and improv was perfect for the script, and now there are loads of additional videos I'm thinking about with all this great footage...
The project could not have been completed without the technical expertise of my crew! Director of Photography Dan Perez de la Garza (D. Perez) not only filmed the piece, but also synced our audio to the camera to save time for me in post-production. G&E Andrew Frechette helped create dynamic lighting and dolly track - not to mention the hundreds of flags. The two worked together and somehow managed to successfully film in a bathroom, which, if you try it, you'd understand why I'm impressed.
This was such a hilarious shoot, and we hope you have the same reaction to the video as we did on the set. You know, tons of laughter and toilet-themed political jokes, haha.
