I finally put together a short video about my work in film, design, teaching and love of community! The video features content creation and presentation design for strategies I created with DIY & Hair Dye; websites I developed and designed in Squarespace; my book, publishing package and social media awareness campaign for “Dadalectic”; my work with BlueSoho for Lucky’s Market; a sample of my work crafting tutorials using cloud sharing as example; my work teaching Adobe software and design principles at Syracuse University; and, finally, my work as video editor as I show the final edit to this very video.
What started as a project for my multimedia storytelling class turned into the very component missing from my portfolio. What’s more, the video in itself was an entire production; I coordinated a “fake” behind-the-scenes film shoot to show what I look like, directing a film shoot. The content is, in itself, the shoot; we didn’t actually film any content beyond the making of the fake content. Yes, it’s all very meta, very “symbiopsychotaxiplasm.”
This was a fun shoot, and there’s still so much footage I’d like to use! — plus, many a humorous outtake, and I need to make a longer version of this video. You know, for “funsies” and such. I organized the shoot, the crew, and the files for editing. And then, of course, I did all of the video post-production work — editing, color, audio and my signature end title graphic.
Several years out of film school, I finally figured out how to create and cultivate a team from my own, very talented friends. Or, perhaps, I finally find myself to be friends with incredibly talented multimedia producers. A big thanks to my amazing production crew: Brianna Green, Melanie Green, Matthew DeVirgilio, Huey Younger, Gabriel Stuart, Gabriel B Kotico, with extra footage from Patrick Linehan and Erica Morrison.
Thanks for watching!
