I recently created a short video about my passion for teaching and community through the framework of a film production. While my breadth of work extends beyond filmmaking and teaching, I felt this comparison provided grounding to the more abstract concepts I discuss, such as emotions, relationship building and management, inclusivity, and the idea of structure.
This video features content creation, presentation design, and strategies I created for DIY & Hair Dye; websites I developed and designed in Squarespace; my book, a publishing package and social media awareness campaign for “Dadalectic”; my work with BlueSoho for Lucky’s Market; a sample of my work crafting tutorials such as “cloud sharing”; my work teaching Adobe software and design principles at Syracuse University; and, finally, my work as video editor completing this very video.
I organized the shoot, the crew, and files for editing. I then worked on all aspects of video post-production — editing, color, audio, and my signature end title graphic for “The Girl Mirage.”
What’s more, I coordinated a “fake” behind-the-scenes film shoot to show what I look like when directing a film shoot. The content is in itself the shoot; we didn’t actually film any content beyond the making of the fake content. Yes, it’s all very meta — very “symbiopsychotaxiplasm.”
