The TransFIREmation Gallery Show & Installation is up and open, with a reception on Thursday, April 25th @ 7pm! The installation highlights work that represents change and the ephemeral and, above all - transformation.
I toured the gallery space, documenting my production and curating work, along with my featured series Liar Liar and thesis film 'My Big Bad Wolf' (2013), both of which sparked my idea for this group gallery show.
And yes, I transferred that window vinyl myself, with the help of a friend ;) Man, that took a while...
As you can see, Sydney Schofield's sculpture Untitled (Suspended Progression) is very detailed, so I took extra shots to share. I love pretty much everything about this piece, and am so glad we were able to include it in the show. Below, check out some details shots of the work in the show, and perhaps it will entice you to experience all of these textures in person ;)
I'm very excited to finally debut my art 'Liar Liar, Curtains On Fire', a series commenting on time and transformation. This series of six, 24 x 36" prints shows a progression of curtains burning in a field. Because this series displays in a gallery setting, it allows the viewer to choose in which way the curtains burn - forwards, or in reverse?
I can't wait for the show's upcoming reception on April 25th, and check out the event page and add it to your iCal or gCal. I hope to see you there!
