The professional photos are in, and the article is out! Thanks to Laura Drinan at Hometown Weekly Newspapers for the great photos, the support, and the amazing article in the newspaper about my first book reading and signing for "Dadalectic: Waking Dream"!
I was clearly super excited to gift a copy of my book to the Medfield Public Library, haha. Thanks again to Director Meena Jain for hosting me, promoting me - and adding my poetry/art book to the Minuteman Library Network!
Yep, these are just photos of me posing in different ways as though I was "reading" and - look at that one on the end where I'm "answering questions," haha. (That's also why I'm laughing in that shot there.) I saw these and I was like, damn, I'd make a pretty cool professor, haha! Maybe one day? ;)
Thanks again to Laura for the great article, and for recording my thoughts on the spot as I described the relationship between dadaism and the word "dialectic" in my title "Dadalectic" and throughout the work:
"I'm using nonsense to discuss the truth of opinions. The whole thing is that I tell a truthful story with my opinions. I’m having a truthful story with the reader, and it’s through an obscure lens of Dadaism."
It was such a fun event, and it felt so empowering to share my words with the world - that's why I've always wanted to be a published author. And look at that - I did it! It felt really great to have my friends join me as I talked about self-publishing, my book, the ideas behind it - and even how others can get involved, and how young artists can start putting their work out there now. I know everyone had a great time, and it really affirmed my interest in teaching and helping others with their own work.
