After my final exam for my media law class, I went home and didn’t know quite what to do with myself. My classes had ended, my exams were done, and it was eight o’clock at night. So, I decided to get my ring light and take some self-portraits. I put on the TV for the first time since July, and watched war movies on and off as I moved between laying on the bed and taking photos throughout the night.
I think this first photo looks like an ad for face wash, haha — though, ironically, I don’t even use face wash; I like to be portable. The lighting, and the fact that I was exhausted, really made for some beautiful portraits. My hair was glowing, and the ring really caught the fact that my eyes capture light in two different ways. If I played baseball, damn, I’d be amazing — I never miss.
This last one felt sort of “witchy,” like I’m channeling the wind and it’s swirling up around me. I look at my face and think, “Zelda.” I’d love to photograph others using my ring light, the off-white wall a simple backdrop, perfect for a variety of color filters and effects.
