Here I am in hot and sunny Israel as part of the Masa Israel Teaching Fellowship, teaching ESL to Israeli children! We just moved into our apartments, and don't start teaching until late October. Soon we'll begin Ulpan to learn Ivrit (Hebrew language classes), too.
On a sunny Shabbat morning, I took a walk around my neighborhood in Rishon LeZion. Depending on where you look, I live on Hurvitz Street, Horovich Street, Horowitz Street (on Google Maps) - but it's really הורביץ. The city was nearly empty, and it was only later I discovered where everyone goes on Shabbat - the mall.
I loved walking around and seeing the variety of foliage, the flowers - the abundance of birds of paradise growing in the front of the apartment buildings. (Also, that dick-on-a-car was there for about three weeks, greeting me every day when I stepped outside, haha.)
