'The Empty Room' is a self-reflective series based around an empty, spare bedroom in my old, Boston apartment. Three different tenants moved in and out over the course of six months, finally leaving the apartment empty the remainder of the summer.
These videos - often long shots of me, talking to the viewer - grew out of my need to express the creative aspects of my personality that I had suppressed while in a previous relationship. That relationship ended in his arrest - and that's how I'd landed this empty room.
I used the sometimes-spare bedroom to record my strange, colorful videos, along with a few other pieces, such as my short film 'Estranged' (2011). The majority of this series is not available online, including a sub-series 'Ponder With Pluto.' However, I've selected a several videos for online viewing, along with a series of images.

A personal performance of the song 'I've Told Every Little Star' (1961) as the singer, Linda Scott. Initially created as a way to both entertain myself and play with channel-swapping during the post-production process, this project became something more.

'Geena Radio' was how I entertained myself as a kid; I made elaborate radio, game and talk shows in which I played all of the characters. And, as seen, I just make it up as I go. The only device I had as a kid was a hand-held audio recorder, and I am in the process of transferring the childhood tapes to digital for future use.
This is my present-day rendition of 'Geena Radio' - complete with the questionable lighting, strange cuts, etc - purely for entertainment.
