Flower Daze
An ongoing mixed media series, “Flower Daze” is an exploration in ephemerality through a floral lens using both physical and digital media.
Concept
An ongoing mixed media series, “Flower Daze” is an exploration in ephemerality through a floral lens using both physical and digital media. Both intentional and experimental techniques are used in this work, including physical watercolor, acrylics, layering, and also the methods by which each piece is printed.
This series focuses on the flower, and its ephemeral nature. While the flower only lives and blooms for a brief period of time, this series distorts its reality into a fantasy that can live on in perpetuity in a surreality that does not question the flowers’ enduring presence.
Details
While some pieces look like they are entirely digitally fabricated, or perhaps entirely painted, each image starts with a photograph taken by the artist at various points in time. A series that began in 2015, all work has been created by hand and no A.I. has been involved in its making.
